There is an interesting article in the San Jose Mercury here.  I contrasts the low level of charitable giving in the Valley compared to the LA area.  The Valley was second to last while LA was first.  For those of us who are active in charitable organization and who have tried to raise money in the Valley, this comes as no surprise.  And as far as I am concerned giving pre tax dollars to your kids private school does not count.   Maybe instead of dreaming of a G4 you can do something to create a world in which every one can dream.
