Congress just gave themselves a two months vacation after just having come back from a months vacation. That made me think about how we can get our government to actually work. Continue reading
How to make big bucks by publishing nude photos of celeberties by hacking their iCloud Accounts
I am not saying this happened. I don’t know who or why the photos of celebrities was where hacked over an extended period of time and then published but the effect of this was to reduce Apple’s market cap by more than $26 billion dollars (4%). It would not have been too difficult to figure … Continue reading
The Syrian Strategy: How the USA, Russia and Israel collaborated to keep Assad in power
More than a year ago, Israeli diplomats engaged the Americans in a discussion about the situation in Syria. Obama had already issued his “red line” warning about the use of chemical warfare by the Assad regime. Then Assad when ahead and gassed his own people in the tradition of his neighbor, Iraq. Obama was not only concerned about this act but also concerned that these weapons could end up in the hands of Islamic Terrorist and be used against American targets and allies. Russia, on the other hand, wanted to keep Assad in power as he was one of the few world leaders over which Russia still had influence. Israel, who knew more about what was going on in Syria than any other country including Syria, did not want to see Assad go. He was the devil they knew.

He is also the only person to have fired me in my career, and I remain thankful for that. Reading about Jim, it might be hard to imagine a time … Continue reading
It is hard to be a nice guy when you live in a bad neighborhood
I have written a lot about Israel and Palestine, probably so much that I have bored many of my readers who appear to be more interested in what I have to say about technology than my views about the Middle East. However, this is my blog, and I write as much for myself as I … Continue reading

When I was living in Israel in the 70s, there was no such thing as cell phones or even the internet. But there was the portable transistor radio and everyone carried one tuned to one fo the few radio stations that were available. Once an hour, the news would be played. Apple laid the foundation for the iWatch at WWDC and everyone missed it!
On June 2nd, Apple had its 25th annual developer conference which has been covered extensively by the press. Personally, I thought Apple’s announcements were very important in a variety of ways, and I can’t wait to get the next version of the Mac OS which is called Yosemite, the first Jewish version of the OS … Continue reading
It is not big brother that you have to worry about: It is the spy in your pocket.
Sorry, if you are getting this twice. I made this post a “page by accident”. 1949, George Orwell wrote a book called 1984. I probably read it when I was about ten years old, in 1955. Then, 1984 seemed like a long time in the future. So it was interesting that Apple used this … Continue reading
