The days of building a company to last may be over. Now we are building companies to blast. Continue reading

Facebook: Take the money and run!
I really enjoy Facebook. But actually what I really enjoy is interacting with my friends. I probably don’t really like the company Facebook that much. Continue reading
If I was seven year old now and had an iPad
Today, while my wife was having a tennis lesson, I waited for her in the car. During this time, I took another class on iTunes U on evolution via my iPad. When she came back, she noted how amazing it was that I could take a course along with actual Yale students. I agreed it was amazing. Then I began to think of my own youth and how I educated myself and how different it would be if I was seven years old now and had an iPad and access to the internet. Continue reading
Did Google defriend me?
. Like many of you (now admit it), you check our own name on Google (or now Bing). I actually do one worse. I do a search on Google News to articles where my name is mentioned. Now this normally does not change much since I am not doing anything news worthy (capturing the recent swarm of bees does not count). Continue reading
Another attempt to put order into my social networks (I no longer have time for a social life).
Years ago (early 90s) when I recognized that broadband Internet would create a new medium, I also thought that much of the content would come from individuals but I did not really think about social networks. What is on my Kindle
Now I mostly read when I travel which still means I get a lot of book time. But yes, there is mighty competition from podcasts, magazines, and the internet. Still I can’t see giving up books. It is wonderful to turn yourself over to someone else and let them take control of you. Continue reading

Social Media for Seniors
My son, Adin and I just had a discussion about social media and a lesson on using twitter and in particular Tweet Deck. Adin has spent the last 15 years (his entire career) working for and with non profit institutions. Lately he has focused his attention on the use of Social Media for non profits … Continue reading
Music and the PC
I just got a link (and an email) from Stanly Jungleib who founded Seer Systems and was responsible for the development of the first professional software synthesizer. Stanley had been a member of the group that founded MIDI which is a industry protocol that is still used (I use it almost every day) represent music. … Continue reading
Blog Guilt
It has been a long time since I posted here and for a while I have had a vague sense of guilt about it. Frankly, I do not really know why. I don’t have that many people that read my blog. I think I must feel guilty because I do think that I have something … Continue reading
